Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Assembly of the Republic last Thursday (24-03) approved, in general and by consensus, the proposal to revise the law that creates the National Migration Service.

The instrument will allow the creation of administrative detention centres to accommodate foreign citizens found to be in an irregular migratory situation.

Minister of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs Helena Kida explained to parliament that the proposed revision would contribute to the fight against illegal immigration.

Also on Thursday, parliament approved the proposed revisions to the legal regime for Civil Identification and Identity Card for national citizens and the instrument on Copyright and Related Rights.
