Africa-Press – Mozambique. The chairperson of the Mozambican parliament’s Commission on International Relations, Cooperation and Communities (CRICC), Catarina Dimande, has invited Cuba and Venezuela to seize the opportunities presented by President Filipe Nyusi’s programme to accelerate the domestic economy and invest in Mozambique,

The information was shared this Thursday morning after a meeting between Deputy Dimande and deputies of the parliaments of the Republic of Cuba and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

The measures announced by the head of state constitute an excellent opportunity for investors, “so we used the meeting with our counterparts in Cuba and Venezuela to raise awareness among the business community of their countries for that purpose”, Dimande said.

“We believe that some of these measures will pass through Parliament for consideration and then we will be open to receive more investors here in Mozambique,” Dimande added, before praising the support lent by both countries to Mozambique in its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.

In response, deputy of the Communist Party of Cuba, Rosário Diaz, expressed her wish to strengthen the relations of friendship and cooperation between the parliaments of her country and Mozambique, especially in the areas of economic and social development.

For his part, the Chairperson of the Permanent Commission on the Security and Defence of the Nation of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Jesus Rafael Suarez Chourio, expressed the need to consolidate collaborative relations between Mozambique and Venezuela, urging the creation of a joint parliamentary working to facilitate the exchange of experiences.
