PM assesses voter registration in Tanzania as positive

Africa-Press – Mozambique. Prime Minister Adriano Maleiane has delivered a positive assessment of voter registration in Tanzania for the general elections of October 9th this year.

Adriano Maleiane made his assessment after receiving a report on the process from the Mozambican High Commission in Tanzania, and visiting a voter registration post in the city of Dar-Es-Salaam on Saturday morning (27-04).

In a brief interaction with the prime minister, brigade member Elion Pendame said that, by this Sunday, all potential projected voters in that Dar Es Salam post would be registered.

According to projections, Tanzania had the target of registering just over 28,000 resident Mozambicans, 95% of whom had been captured by this Saturday.

At the end of the visit, Prime Minister Maleiane said that he was satisfied with the progress of the voter registration and everything indicated that the goal would be achieved even before the extended period.

In addition to the voter registration post, the Prime Minister visited the facilities from where the High Commission of Mozambique operates and the house where Eduardo Mondlane, the first president of Frelimo, lived in Dar-Es-Salam.

Adriano Maleiane also met representatives of the Mozambican community living in Tanzania.
