Africa-Press – Mozambique. A 17-year-old motorcycle taxi driver was seriously injured after being shot in the head by an agent of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) in the Chingodze neighbourhood on the outskirts of Tete last Thursday (September 02).
According to Carta de Moçambique sources, the police agent used his firearm to immobilise the moto-taxi driver, who disobeyed an order to stop at an Inspection Post on the Revúbuè river, and instead ran away.
The situation, sources report, agitated the victim’s colleagues, who went to the local police station to ‘settle the score’ with the agent involved, but without success.
The police have not yet commented on the case.
The victim was hospitalised in the Provincial Hospital of Tete.
