Africa-Press – Mozambique. The President of the Republic, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, addressed a message of congratulations to the President-elect of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, for a second term as President of the Republic, reads a comunique ,issued on Wednesday by the Presidency of the Republic of Mozambique.
In the message, the Head of State writes that he followed with great interest the harmonised elections that were held in the sister Republic of Zimbabwe, on August 23, 2023, having with satisfaction learned of the election of Emmerson Mnangagwa for a second term as President of the Republic of Zimbabwe.
“On behalf of the People and Government of the Republic of Mozambique, as well as my own, I would like to congratulate Your Excellency and the people of Zimbabwe for the opportunity to lead them towards achieving their aspirations for progress and well-being. You being chosen in highly competitive elections demonstrates the confidence placed in you by the majority of voters to continue to lead the Zimbabwean Nation towards the socio-economic development and well-being of the Zimbabwean people”, reads the message from the President of the Republic.
The Head of State stresses that “while I wish you success in carrying out your noble duties as President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, I would like to assure you of my commitment to working with Your Excellency to deepen the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between our two countries and peoples, as well as in SADC, the African Union and the United Nations”
