Africa-Press – Mozambique. The road link between the town of Mocimboa da Praia and the town of Awasse, in Cabo Delgado province, which had been interrupted for about a year, was re-established on Sunday afternoon.
According to newspaper ‘Noticias’, the restoration of road traffic results from the placement on the R762 of an alternative bridge over the Quinhevo River capable of supporting vehicles with a maximum weight of 60 tons.
The bridge, built at the request of the Joint Command of the Defence and Security Forces of Mozambique and Rwanda, will facilitate the movement between the two points of motorised infantry involved in clean-up operations in Cabo Delgado province.
