Africa-Press – Mozambique. Last week (30 March) the 1st Awards Gala of “Prémio de Industrias Culturais e Criativas “(PREICC) took place in Maputo with Sasol sponsorship.
The purpose of the event was to recognise national artists who have demonstrated outstanding contributions towards the promotion and continuation of Mozambique’s cultural legacy. The following artists were awarded with a 120.000 MZN check cash and trophy:
According to the Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, there is a trend of innovation and improvement in the quality of cultural and creative services and products in the domestic and international markets, resulting in job creation for operators of the Cultural and Creative Industries.
Ovídio Rodolfo, Vice President and Country Manager for Sasol in Mozambique, affirmed that Sasol is not only sponsoring culture, but also supporting an initiative that recognises those who contribute to the development of the country through Cultural and Creative Industries.
It is worth noting that this sponsorship has complemented Sasol’s recent support for the Timbila M’saho Festival, which was held in December last year in the Zavala District, the Tofo Music Festival, the African Beach Soccer Championship in Vilankulo, and other initiatives that Sasol has been developing in the cultural field.
