Africa-Press – Mozambique. The National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) on Tuesday incinerated 829.4 kilograms of narcotics seized from January to mid-February in various parts of Nampula province.
The batch consisted of 472 kilograms of heroin, 2.5 kilograms of methamphetamine, 76.9 kilograms of cannabis sativa (soruma), 158 kilograms of ‘mirá’ (a synthetic narcotic) and 120 kilograms of traumadol pills.
According to SERNIC spokesperson Enina Tsinine, the drugs were seized in Eráti and Ilha de Moçambique districts and at Nampula International Airport.
Concerning a recent drug seizure on the Island of Mozambique, SERNIC has still not been able to identify the intended recipients of the merchandise, nor the driver of the vehicle in which the drugs were being transported.
