Africa-Press – Mozambique. The National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) seized 85 kilograms of heavy drugs on Friday in Chuiba neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Pemba. This includes 55 kilograms of cocaine and 30 kilograms of hashish.
According to the SERNIC spokesperson, Noémia João, the seizure occurred when the suspected traffickers were unloading the drugs from a boat into a vehicle. Upon noticing the presence of the SERNIC officers, they fled.
She mentioned that further investigations led to the apprehension of one individual. However, the detained man denies the accusations, stating that his vehicle, used for transporting the drugs, had been lent to his tenant, and he was unaware that it would be used for drug transportation.
