Africa-Press – Mozambique. Six people died and four sustained minor injuries in a traffic accident in Nicoadala district, Zambézia province on Tuesday night.
The accident involved a collision between a Mahindra light passenger transport vehicle and Mitsubishi Canter truck at around 8:00 p.m. in the village of Mademo, half a kilometre from the town of Nicoadala. Six of the ten occupants of the Mahindra lost their lives at the scene.
The incident was confirmed on Wednesday by Zambézia police spokesperson Belarmina Henriques.
Marques said that both vehicles were heading in the direction of Namacurra/Nicoadala, with the driver of the light vehicle crashing into the back of the heavy vehicle.
