Africa-Press – Mozambique. South African investors have set up an industrial unit for the production, processing and sale of meat from various livestock species in the Incoloane region, Bilene district, in Gaza province.

The enterprise comprises a stockyard, a slaughterhouse, butcher’s shop and a restaurant. Stock currently includes 450 head of Brahma cattle, goats, sheep, turkeys and chickens.

Daniel Muton from Agropec Gaza Beef, Limitada, says that the breeding and processing initiative aims to ensure better supply and sale of species that are slaughtered daily to supply the markets in Gaza and the cities of Maputo and Matola.

Governor of Gaza, Margarida Mapandzene Chongo, who visited the facility, highlighted that the province would benefit from the creation of a complete meat production value chain, which would also contribute to the country’s development.
