Africa-Press – Mozambique. The husking and processing of more than 1,000 tonnes of rice from the last two agricultural campaigns in some districts of Gaza will begin next week.
After many years of idleness, the largest rice husking and processing plant in Gaza, with a capacity of 70,000 tons per year, has acquired a private operator backed by foreign capital recently identified by the government.
The information was provided to Radio Mozambique by the chairman of Regadio do Baixo Limpopo, Armando Ussivane, who is responsible for managing the Chókwè Agro-industrial Complex.
Ussivane noted that the resumption of rice husking and processing in Chókwè would be able to absorb all rice production from producers in the districts of Chókwè, Xai-Xai and Bilene.
