Africa-Press – Mozambique. South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns have booked a place in the CAF Champions League final after defeating Esperance de Tunis 1-0 on Saturday, completing a 2-0 aggregate victory.

Colombian striker Brayan Leon scored the decisive goal in the 35th minute at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

His penalty was initially saved by goalkeeper Bechir Ben Said, but Leon reacted quickly to convert the rebound.

Leon had also netted the only goal in the first leg in Tunis last weekend, helping Sundowns secure a second consecutive appearance in the final after finishing runners-up last season.

The hosts were awarded the penalty after a costly mistake by Ben Said, whose attempted clearance from a throw-in was intercepted by Leon before the goalkeeper brought him down inside the box.

Esperance nearly found an equaliser just before halftime when French forward Florin Danho struck the crossbar with a close-range effort.

Sundowns will now face either Royal Armed Forces or RS Berkane in the final.
