Africa-Press – Mozambique. Angolan airline TAAG announced today an increase in flights on their main regional routes, with additional flights to Maputo (Mozambique), Cape Town and Johannesburg (South Africa) and Brazzaville (Republic of Congo).

“This decision aims to offer greater flexibility, convenience and connectivity to passengers, responding to the growth in demand in these destinations, facilitating connections and leisure or business trips between Southern Africa and Central Africa,” explains TAAG in a statement.

To the Mozambican capital, Maputo, TAAG will, from 4 June, offer five weekly flights, one more than previously, with flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Cape Town, South Africa, will see weekly frequency rise from nine to 10, with twice-daily flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while flights to Johannesburg will increase from seven to nine, with twice-daily flights on Thursdays and Saturdays.

The capital of Congo, Brazzaville, will have three weekly flights – on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The airline says that this plan is part of the “optimization of the company’s network and expansion, with a multifaceted impact on sectors such as tourism, development of the local economy and cultural exchange”.
