Africa-Press – Mozambique. A man was arrested at the Caunje checkpoint, in Moatize district, Tete province, on Tuesday, for illegally transporting an explosive device.
The detainee had asked for a ride in Marávia district in a private vehicle that was on its way from Zumbo to Tete city, but had in his possession a mine concealed in a bag of malambe (the fruit of the baobab).
The man is known to have been heading for Balama, in Cabo Delgado, where he works.
The individual is now in the custody of the District Police Command of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) in Moatize, who promise further details in the coming days.
