Africa-PressMozambique. Maputo, October 18, 2021 – TotalEnergies is supporting the return of government services to conflict-affected parts of Cabo Delgado through the donation of temporary office and accommodation facilities.

The company today delivered 16 flatpacks to the Provincial Government of Cabo Delgado. They will be used to temporarily house. nurses, teachers, police, and other government officials returning to the districts of Macomia and Quissanga.

TotalEnergies is also supporting the upgrade of the Palma Health Clinic.

TotalEnergies’ Mozambique Country Chair, Maxime Rabilloud, said the return of government services is an essential to bringing stability and confidence back to affected communities.

Since the attacks in Palma District in late-March, TotalEnergies and its partners in the Mozambique LNG Project, have provided 190 tonnes of food aid to Palma as well as to IDPs in the southern districts of Cabo Delgado.

In the immediate aftermath of the attacks, the Project’s Afungi-based medical team provided emergency assistance to more than 300 community members. The Project also facilitated the evacuation to Pemba of almost 3,000 [2,796] of the most vulnerable community members.
