Africa-Press – Mozambique. All crossing and navigation activities in the coastal districts of Inhambane province are suspended, with effect from tomorrow, Wednesday.
According to the National Institute of Maritime Transport in Inhambane, the measure is a direct response to the threat posed by the moderate tropical storm Gezani, whose effects are expected to be felt from tomorrow.
The decision, which also covers fishing activities, aims to safeguard human life in view of predicted rough seas with huge waves, as announced by the Inhambane delegate of the National Institute of Maritime Transport, Dinório Mutumane.
“Seafarers and fishermen must keep their vessels ashore and properly secured,” he said.
