Africa-Press – Mozambique. Mozambique’s Minister of Education, Carmelita Namashulua, says that the government is doing everything possible to correct anomalies detected in the new Single Salary Table (TSU).
“Everything is being done in our government to correct any discontinuities that may exist in the implementation” of the TSU, Carmelita Namashulua told the media on the sidelines of a public event in Maputo on Monday.
At issue are the complaints by some civil servants, including teachers, of irregularities in the framework.
For the minister, the errors in the process are understandable, as this is a new procedure, which aims to “bring a certain dignity to the public service”.
“Therefore, we wanted to urge our fellow teachers to continue to teach properly, continue to prepare our students for the exams in November,” said the minister, adding that the Ministry of Education is in constant contact with the National Organization of Teachers (ONP).
“It is important to remain calm – this is an unfinished process. As stated by our government, as we implement [the TSU], we will also correct any irregularities that may arise,” she stressed.
The approval by Parliament and promulgation by the President of the Republic of the new TSU took place after the document was returned by the executive to the Assembly of the Republic following the detection of “non-conformities”.
