In addition to his meeting with Guterres, President Chapo engaged in bilateral talks with investors associated with DP World, a major logistics company, and held discussions with a representative of the government of the United Arab Emirates.

These meetings highlight President Chapo’s proactive approach to economic diplomacy, aiming to attract foreign investment and strengthen Mozambique’s global economic partnerships.

During his stay in New York, President Chapo is also expected to meet with other influential global leaders, including Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission.

Speaking after the engagements, President Chapo described the interaction with the UN Secretary-General as fruitful and encouraging. “This meeting was an opportunity to express our appreciation for the support we continue to receive from the United Nations.
