Africa-Press – Mozambique. Three heavily armed individuals have kidnapped and killed Rafael Diquissone, the Renamo delegate in Nkondedzi, Zobue district, in Tete province.
Diquissone, who was demobilised with the rank of colonel, was kidnapped in Moatize district, Renamo political delegate in Tete, Evaristo Sixpence, said, maintaining that a climate of fear reigns.
Sixpence told TV Miramar that the kidnapping took place on January 30th, as Diquissone was riding home on a motorbike. He was stopped by three men later identified by the population.
Diquissone is said to have been murdered in Guro district.
“What we found there wasn’t a person, just ashes,” Sixpence said. “People said they saw the same people there, in the same white Mahindra vehicle, with UIR (Rapid Intervention Police) uniforms.”
