Vehicle traffic on the road connecting the town of Marracuene and the tourist area of Macaneta remains prohibited due to flooding caused by the overflow of the Incomati River. An assessment carried out this Thursday by the Mozambican Road Network (REVIMO) and the Marracuene Municipal Council found that the water continues to flow strongly and has also washed away and destroyed some sections of the road.
Municipal authorities and REVIMO urge the public not to use the road due to the risk of accidents or being swept away by the waters.
The roadside areas continue to hold large amounts of water, which have flooded various crops.
