“Three years ago, we wouldn’t be in a situation like this! A welcoming environment, complete with a beautiful park. People comment and admire the visible transformations. Therefore, we had no other way than to honor Vulcan. I hope this meeting will strengthen a lasting partnership for better days to come,” stated.
Vulcan CEO Mukesh Kumar reiterated the company’s role as the largest investor in Tete province and reinforced its commitment to the region’s inclusive development, emphasizing the importance of public-private partnerships for the advancement of critical infrastructure:
“We want to ensure that anyone arriving in Tete has a positive impression from the very first moment. The Government, Mozambique Airports, and Vulcan are a family. This is a concrete example of how the public and private sectors can work together to transform realities,” stated Mukesh Kumar.
The highlight of the ceremony was the planting of trees, symbolizing Vulcan’s commitment to environmental sustainability, reinforced by concrete reforestation and preservation actions of the local ecosystem.
Some of the interventions carried out at the airport include: paving and horizontal signage in the arrivals parking lot; painting of the access gate; repainting of the main building’s roof; asphalting of the roadside, with corresponding horizontal signage; landscaping of green areas; earthworks between the runway and the terminal to enhance security; installation of air conditioning units in the arrivals and VIP lounges; and paving and horizontal signage in the arrivals and departures parking lots, among other improvements.
