Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Minister of Public Works, Housing, and Water Resources, Carlos Mesquita, ensured that the installation of the temporary bridge over the Revúbuè River, between the cities of Moatize and Tete, is in the phase of geotechnical and geophysical studies, with guarantees that it will be placed later this year.

This is a temporary solution promised by the leader on January 17th in Tete, as a measure to relieve the heavy goods traffic pressure on the Samora Machel bridge, after one of its suspension anchors collapsed, requiring emergency intervention.

When questioned today by “Notícias,” on the sidelines of the 11th Meeting of the Zambezi River Watercourse Commission Council of Ministers, held in Tete, considering that the installation was scheduled to begin in February and end in June, the Minister explained that work is already underway in this regard.

“We are working on it as announced. We have two projects in hand for the Revúbuè, which are the temporary bridge whose studies are underway, and the permanent one. After we conclude the executive plan for the new infrastructure, we will mobilize financing, a matter we are already discussing with various entities,” he clarified.
