AfricaPress-mozambique: AQ Volta, the company responsible for the development and construction of Aquila Capital’s wind and solar projects in southern Europe, will start operating as Aquila Clean Energy, under the Aquila Capital brand
“The aim is to reinforce the Aquila Capital brand and leverage synergies between the different brands of the company”, says Aquila Capital, which is an independent investment management company headquartered in Hamburg, Germany.
Thus, AQ Volta will become part of Aquila Clean Energy. “Local teams in the Lisbon, Madrid, Milan and Athens offices will continue to focus on covering the entire value chain of Aquila Capital’s wind and solar assets in southern Europe,” says the fund manager.
The former AQ Volta team, which has around 40 employees, is active in Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece. “Local teams specializing in development and construction will continue to monitor and manage Aquila Capital’s activities in renewable energy in each country, with a focus on solar and wind energy”, adds the management company.

In 2020, Aquila Capital acquired around 3GW of renewable energy assets in Europe, reaching the milestone of a pan-European renewable portfolio of 10GW, of which 5GW corresponds to Southern Europe.
Aquila Capital currently manages around €12.5 billion for institutional investors worldwide. The company has around 600 employees of 48 different nationalities and operates from 14 offices in twelve countries.
