Africa-Press – Mozambique. 22 countries closed their borders, in an attempt to prevent the spread of the new “Omicron” mutant of the “Corona” virus, which is the latest move in the efforts to combat the epidemic that has been ongoing in all countries for nearly two years.

And on Thursday, scientists from South Africa announced that they had discovered a new strain of the virus, and on the next day European countries, including Belgium, announced their first infection with the new mutant, so that other countries announced injuries.

In this context, Anatolia monitors the countries that closed their borders, and they are located on 4 continents: Asia, Africa, Europe and North America:

1- Saudi Arabia

Since Sunday, flights to and from 7 African countries have been suspended: Malawi, Zambia, Madagascar, Angola, Seychelles, Mauritius and Comoros.

This brings the number to 14 African countries, as Riyadh began on Friday a travel ban to and from 7 other countries: South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Lesotho and Eswatini (formerly Swaziland).

2- Kuwait

Since Saturday, it is prohibited to travel to and from 9 African countries: South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Lesotho, Eswatini, Zambia and Malawi, with the application of quarantine to Kuwaitis coming from these countries for a period of 7 days.

3- Sultanate of Oman

Since Saturday, foreigners from 7 African countries are prohibited from entering: South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini and Mozambique.

4- UAE

Since Friday, foreigners from 7 African countries are prohibited from entering: South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini and Mozambique.

5- Qatar

Since Friday, it has prohibited entry to foreigners from 6 African countries: South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Eswatini.

6- Bahrain

Since Friday, flights to and from 10 African countries have been suspended: South Africa, Malawi, Mozambique, Angola, Zambia, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Eswatini.

7- Morocco

Since Monday, November 29, all incoming passenger flights are prohibited for a period of two weeks.

8- Sudan

Since Sunday, foreigners from 5 African countries are prohibited from entering: South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho and Namibia.

9- Egypt

Since Friday, direct flights to and from 7 African countries have stopped: South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia and Eswatini.

10- Israel

Since Sunday, foreigners from all over the world are prohibited from entering, except in cases approved by a government committee.

11- Angola

Since Sunday, it has suspended all flights with its neighbors: South Africa, Mozambique and Namibia.

12- Pakistan

Since Sunday, it has banned travel to and from 6 African countries: South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Botswana and Namibia, in addition to the city of Hong Kong.

13- Philippines

From Sunday until December 15, travelers from seven “high-risk” countries are prohibited from entering: Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium and Italy.

Before that, flights to and from 7 African countries were suspended: South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini and Mozambique.

14- Indonesia

Starting from Monday, November 29, it is forbidden to enter foreigners coming from 8 African countries: South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Mozambique, Eswatini and Nigeria.

15- Maldives

Since Sunday, foreigners from 7 African countries are prohibited from entering: South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, Lesotho and Eswatini.

16- New Zealand

Starting from Monday, November 29, it is forbidden to enter foreigners coming from 9 African countries: South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, Seychelles, Malawi and Mozambique.

17- France

On Sunday, it extended the entry ban on foreigners from 7 African countries: South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini and Mozambique.

18- Britain

Since Thursday, flights to and from 6 African countries have been suspended: South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Botswana, Eswatini and Zimbabwe.

19- Italy

Since Friday, foreigners from 7 African countries are prohibited from entering: South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini and Mozambique.

20- Switzerland

Since Friday, foreigners from 7 African countries are prohibited from entering: South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini and Mozambique.

21- Latvia

Since Saturday, flights to and from 7 African countries are prohibited: South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia and Eswatini.

22- Canada

Since Saturday, foreigners from 7 African countries are prohibited from entering: South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini.
