Africa-Press – Namibia. ONE of the oldest schools in the Otjozondjupa Region, the Okakarara Secondary schools, recently received a facelift in excess of N$17 million. The newly refurbished school infrastructure worth N$17,291,516.49 was officially handed over on Friday by Okakarara Mayor Olga Tjiurutue and Otjozondupa Education Director and Josephine Mutenda.
The Chief Executive Director of Okakarara Town Council, Ernst Katjikau, as well as the Director of Planning in the ministry, Carvin Muchila, were also in attendance.
The new facilities at the Okakarara school include seven classroom blocks, one science laboratory, one administration block, one multi-purpose hall, a backup generator, five water tankers and a revamped kitchen.
The renovation of the school facilities was done with the financial support of a N$1 billion loan from the African Development Bank under the Agency of the Education and Training Quality Improvement project being implemented by Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture since 2018.
