Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Namibian Police Force (NamPol) is expected to recruit 70 police reservists during their current recruitment process, where they plan to employ 1 700 cadets.

NamPol Inspector-General Joseph Shikongo mentioned during the community meeting held in Oshakati on Wednesday that each region will witness the recruitment of five reservists.

Shikongo explained that out of the 1 700 new cadet constables to be recruited, 1 180 will be from the general pool of applicants meeting the requirements. Additionally, 200 police officers will be recruited from the National Youth Service and 130 from NUST who graduated from Criminal Justice.

Furthermore, Shikongo indicated that they also plan to recruit five outstanding members from the Men and Women network.

Moreover, about 30 officers were requested to return to work after they retired or left due to study purposes.

“We are not just employing people for the sake of creating employment; we want people who are fit to serve the community,” he concluded.
