Africa-Press – Namibia. KING Fillemon Nangolo Shuumbwa of the Ondonga Traditional Authority has issued a strong caution to his community, urging them to be vigilant against individuals falsely claiming to be prophets who could potentially cause disruption and chaos.
Shuumbwa was speaking during a special visit to farmers situated at Omaimbi in the Amuteya district of the Oshikoto Region on Saturday.
According to Shuumbwa, such individuals are not permitted within the Ondonga Traditional Authority if they lack proper authorization.
“If they don’t have proper documentation of any sort and are not licensed accordingly, then chase them away. And if they are being stubborn, call your leaders to deal with them,” he said.
He then instructed community members to confront and expel any unauthorized individuals posing as prophets.
The King also urged community members to immediately notify their local leaders if these individuals persist in their activities, stressing the importance of preventing any form of destruction within the community.
Speaking at the same occasion, businessman Pinehas Nambadi addressed claims from many within the community that they do not know their traditional leader.
Nambadi also touched on concerns regarding theft and a disregard for the laws of the Ondonga Traditional Authority.
It was added that some individuals within the community have been acting independently, without regard for established regulations.
Furthermore, a clarification was made regarding land ownership within the traditional authority.
It was explicitly said that the land belongs to the traditional authority itself and not to individual community members acting on their own accord.
