Africa-Press – Namibia. The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) will dispatch election material for the Moses //Garoëb constituency by-election on 5 January.

The constituency goes to the polls on 6 January, following the death of the constituency councillor, Aili Venonya, in October.

ECN spokesperson Lina Ndengu confirmed this on Friday, adding that, “All the candidates have been invited to come. With police escort, all the teams will be dispatched to different polling stations.”

Twenty-five polling stations will be set up in this constituency with a population of over 45 000.

Party agents and police officers were also trained on 12 and 13 December.

Polling stations will open from 07h00 to 21h00 and the election result will be announced at the collation centre at Moses //Garoëb Primary School hall.

Two independent candidates Moses Hengobe and Hashongo Ndalifilwa are contesting for the position against Mwandingi Moses of the Independent Patriots for Change, Nakale Shinime of the Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters and Ndengu Stefanus of Swapo
