Africa-Press – Namibia. Activist Michael Amushelelo is still detained at Otjomuise Police Station in Windhoek after his arrest on Wednesday afternoon.
Amushelelo’s lawyer, Kadhila Amoomo, says Amushelelo is still detained because the police have failed to charge him so far. He will be appearing in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
Amushelelo was arrested on Wednesday, after he was involved in a public protest by municipal street cleaners that ended in protesters emptying rubbish containers onto the city’s streets.
Amoomo said the grounds for Amushelelo’s arrest have not been furnished to him yet.
