Africa-Press – Namibia. WE are trying to re-organise ourselves and how best to have a successfully driven local governance by looking at how local and regional authorities do their work in Namibia.”

This was stated by Angola’s vice-president Bornito de Sousa Baltazar Diogo at a meeting with his Namibian counterpart Nangolo Mbumba and regional and local authorities held at Ongwediva on Saturday. Diogo said the two countries “are one and need to learn from each other on how best to ensure effective local governance”.

Mumba said the visit is one of friends, comrades and neighbours and the two governments’ relationship is not limited to the presidents, therefore the meeting between the vice presidents and other authorities.

Oshana governor Elia Irimari said it is because of good diplomatic ties between the two governments that they can engage in collaborative efforts such as these. He said they will continue strengthening the relationship between the two countries and their people.

“The importance of diplomatic cooperation in advancing development cannot be overstated. I believe that international cooperation and high-level interactions between States are crucial for enhancing bilateral and multilateral progress,” he said.
