Africa-PressNamibia. A BODY of a 35-year-old man was found along the road from Ondangwa to Oshikango on Saturday.

According to Oshana region police spokesperson, inspector Thomas Aiyambo, the cause of death is not yet known. The body, however, was found with multiple injuries.

He added that the deceased was identified as Nikodemus Erastus Shikongo from Iitananga village in Okaku constituency. No arrest has been made, Aiyambo said.

In a separate incident, a body of a baby girl was found dumped at Ondangwa dump site on Friday. The body was allegedly discovered by a staff member of Ondangwa Town Council.

“The police is seeking public assistance in tracing the suspects,” he said.

Aiyambo further said police are investigating a housebreaking incident which happened at Oshakati West on Friday night where suspects stole cash and other valuable goods such as a watch, a cell phone charger and two perfumes. All these items are worth N$89 700.

On the same day, he said, a motor vehicle was broken into near Shali Complex in Oshakati, where the suspect stole the complainant’s pistol with a magazine of nine rounds valued at N$15 000. The suspect has not been arrested.

At Ondangwa, unknown suspects stole N$12 480 from Ringa Bar. They have not yet been arrested, however, police investigations into the matter continue, Aiyambo said.
