Africa-Press – Namibia. At a time when many families struggle to put food on their tables, Walvis Bay businessman Collin April continues to make a difference through his annual festive season feeding initiative.

Through the Collin April Foundation and its partners, more than 200 people are reached every festive season through food distribution programmes aimed at assisting the most vulnerable members of the community.

The group hosted elders and vulnerable community members during their annual event that was held at Nkandla guesthouse.

April said the initiative is about more than just providing meals. “For us, it’s not just about delivering food.

It’s about restoring dignity, bringing hope and reminding families that they are not forgotten,” he said.

The programme targets disadvantaged individuals and families, many of whom face increased financial pressure during the festive season. Volunteers and partners work together to ensure food parcels are distributed to the needy families.

According to April, the foundation’s work is driven by compassion rather than financial status. “It is not about how big your pocket is, it’s about how big your heart is,” he said. He added that improving the quality of life of disadvantaged people in the community remains a top priority for him and the foundation.
