AUGUST 26 Holdings has confirmed the suspension of Colonel Petrus Anton, the Managing Director of Windhoeker Maschinenfabrik (WMF).

“The August 26 Holdings hereby confirms that, on 8 December 2025, the Board of Directors placed Colonel Petrus Anton, Managing Director of Windhoeker Maschinenfabrik (WMF), on suspension. This decision follows internal governance considerations aimed at ensuring continued organisational alignment and effectiveness,” revealed Martin Tomas, the Public Relations Officer for August 26 Group of Companies.

The suspension follows scrutiny of the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs over allegations that a quotation of N$8 million for a single spare part was fabricated, with claims that August 26 Holdings instructed WMF to produce the false quotation listing the spare parts.

Tomas emphasised that the decision to suspend Anton was deemed necessary after thorough deliberation and in the best interests of the company’s strategic mandate.

“To safeguard the company’s stability and maintain uninterrupted service delivery, the Board resolved to implement the suspension while finalising the modalities required to restore full operational functionality,” Tomas added.

He further noted that the Board will not disclose any additional information at this stage, as the matter is currently undergoing internal processes and procedures.
