“Sponsored by Bank Windhoek, the Agra Weaner Championship Series continues to serve as a vital economic stimulus for Namibia’s cattle industry, offering producers a unique opportunity to benchmark their production standards against their peers. This process fosters valuable relationships, encourages the consistent review and enhancement of management practices and fortifies the cattle industry,” Bank Windhoek revealed.
The championship drew participants from various sectors of the industry, spanning from small-scale resettlement farmers to established commercial ones. Communal towns like Okakarara, Okondjatu, Aminius, and Talismanus were represented in the competition.
“The competition was conducted with the utmost professionalism and rigour by a panel of judges with extensive experience and insight. The judges were experts in their fields, such as Christo van Zyl, Lourens Swart, Norbert Neumann, and Danie de Lange from Feedmaster, and Paul Klein, Herman Lintvelt, Fanie Cronje, and Flip du Plessis from Agra,” Bank Windhoek added.
Additionally, the event also featured a training session on livestock management specifically tailored for communal farmers, aiming to impart proper farming techniques and resource utilization.
