Africa-Press – Namibia. NAMIBIA’S Covid-19-related hospitalisations have increase to 301 from the 252 reported two days ago.
Of the 301 people who are currently hospitalised due to Covid-19, 24 are in intensive care units. “We continue to observe increased hospitalised, including those in ICU,” minister of health and social services Kalumbi Shangula on Friday. The country recorded 1 306 new Covid-19 infections, 108 reinfections, 157 recoveries, and four deaths linked to the virus.
“Fourteen cases have received one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, 123 cases are fully vaccinated, five received three doses, while 33 cases did not specify the number of doses received. 1 131 accounting for 87% of the new cases are unvaccinated,” Shangula said.
The positivity rate for Namibia stands at 40,1%. The total of 1 306 infections include 91 pupils from different schools, 56 healthcare workers, 23 students, and 19 teachers.
“The majority of the new infections are still not vaccinated,” the minister alerted.
