Africa-Press – Namibia. Namibia has recorded 604 new coronavirus infections, three additional deaths linked to Covid-19 and 651 recoveries from the virus, health minister Kalumbi Shangula announced on Friday.
Meanwhile, 231 patients with Covid-19 are hospitalised, with 36 of them being treated in intensive care units.Shangula said 42% of the newly confirmed infections were recorded in the Khomas region.He said infections in Windhoek were sporadically located from all suburbs of the city, while the country continued to observe a high number of cases from all regions. “In the [past] seven days we have recorded a total of 3 283 confirmed cases,” Shangula said.“Clearly the cases are increasing on a daily basis and it requires coordinated efforts from all of us in adhering to prevention measures. Let’s continue washing our hands regularly with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub, social distancing and constantly wearing masks correctly,” he added.Namibia’s novel coronavirus figures are now as follows.Confirmed cases: 24 545Recoveries: 20 727Active cases: 3 607Deaths: 208
