Africa-Press – Namibia. On Monday, the health minister Kalumbi Shangula announced that 72 patients were in hospitals countrywide. However, today the country’s hospitalisations figures shot up to 110 cases, with 710 new infections reported.
The country also recorded one new death linked to the coronavirus, as well as 58 recoveries, Shangula said on Wednesday.
Out of the 110 people in hospital, 10 patients are in intensive care units.
The 710 new infections include 60 pupils, 16 health care workers, 14 students and eight teachers.
“The Khomas region recorded the highest number of new cases, totalling 328, making up 46,2% of the total confirmed cases,” Shangula said.
