Africa-Press – Namibia. SADE de Sousa broke the Namibian women’s national 60m record again and earned All-American honours after placing fifth at the NCAA Division II Track & Field Indoor Championships in Birmingham, USA on Saturday.
The 21-year-old Carson Newman University freshman has improved the record three times since December 2022, lowering it from 7,46 seconds to 7,43, then 7,41 and now 7,37.
The All-America designation is an annual honour bestowed upon an amateur athlete competing in the United States who is considered to be one of the best amateurs in their sport.
Individuals receiving this distinction are typically added to an All-America team for their sport.
