Defence chief sends off two regional representatives

Africa-Press – Namibia. The Namibian Defence Force chief, Martin Pinehas, on Monday posted two officers as Namibia’s defence representatives to three Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) member states.

Their appointment is effective 1 April 2023.

According to the ministry’s Facebook post, Pinehas appointed group captain Herbert Swartz as defence advisor to Zambia, while colonel Richard Masalasala Sipiso is the new defence attaché to Zimbabwe and Mozambique, with residency in Harare.

Swartz replaced colonel Lerry Kwedhi, while Sipiso relieved air commodore Andima Iyambo at the send-off ceremony.

At the event, Pinehas informed the new military representatives to continue promoting and maintaining cordial relations with the defence forces in the countries they are assigned to.
