Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Ministry of Mines and Energy has confirmed that an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 was recorded 10 km northeast of Kamanjab in the early hours today.
Deputy Executive director of the Geological Survey Gloria Simubali said the event was recorded by six seismic stations of the Namibian Seismology Network, namely Windhoek, Kamanjab, Opuwo, Karibib, Aus and Gobabis.
The earthquake was shallow, at a depth of less than 15 km, and four aftershocks were recorded after the main event, with local magnitude ranging from 2.6 to 3.7 in the same areas.
