THE FNB Otjihavera Experience takes place for the 17th consecutive year this weekend in the vicinity of Midgard Lodge.
FNB Namibia, which has been the main sponsor of the event for the past several years, renewed its sponsorship for a further three years, pledging N$150 000 per year.
Michael Hennes, the chairperson of the organising Rock & Rut Cycling Club said they hope to exceed last year’s entries.
“It’s a huge investment by FNB and several other sponsors have also come forward to make the experience so much bigger,” he said.
“We had 75 adult and 17 youth entries last year and we hope to exceed that this year,” he added.
The race consists of two stages over two days, of 80km and 60km respectively for the adults and 40km per day for the youths.
