Africa-Press – Namibia. LANDLESS People’s Movement councillor Sade Gawanas has been elected as the new mayor of the Windhoek Municipal Council.
Gawanas replaces former mayor Job Amupanda, who declined to be nominated for the position. The new mayor was nominated by Independent Patriots for Change councillors. Upon her election, Gawanas was handed the symbolical mayoral chain, which the previous mayor refused to wear.
