Africa-Press – Namibia. PRESIDENT Hage Geingob has joined world leaders in mourning former Kenyan president Mwai Kibaki.

Kibaki died on Friday in the country’s capital, Nairobi, at the age of 90. “The death of former president Mwai Kibaki is a loss for Kenya and Africa. During this hour of grief, I extend condolences to the Kibaki family and fraternal people of Kenya. May you find solace in his contribution in strengthening the foundation of the Kenyan house,” said Geingob.

Kibaki was Kenya’s third president. He served from 2003 to 2013. His death was announced by Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta, who credited Kibaki with reviving Kenya’s then ailing economy. The late Kibaki was the only surviving former president of Kenya. He is survived by four children.
