Africa-Press – Namibia. PRESIDENT Hage Geingob will participate in the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Extraordinary Organ Troika Summit expected to take place tomorrow in Pretoria, South Africa.
The Organ Troika Summit will, among others, receive and consider a progress report on the operations of the SADC Mission In Mozambique (SAMIM) since its deployment in the Cabo Delgado Province to fight an Islamist insurgency.
The Summit will also determine a way forward for the mission. President Geingob is attending in his capacity as incoming Chairperson of the Organ on Politics, Defense and Security Cooperation.
The Organ is responsible for six key areas which include Politics and Diplomacy, Defence, Police (Southern African Regional Police Chiefs Co-operation), State Security, Public Security, and Regional Peacekeeping. President Geingob will depart tomorrow morning, 5 October, at 08h30 and will return on the same day.
