Africa-Press – Namibia. If you’ve noticed brightly branded shuttles cruising through Windhoek after dark, you’re not imagining things. Gondwana Collection Namibia has just announced its latest promotion – the tourist shuttle Hop’n’Go2.

The shuttle is a natural extension of the company’s ‘Tourism Heroes’ campaign, which was launched in 2023 to celebrate and support individuals and organisations that uphold safety, hospitality and kindness in Namibia’s tourism industry.

Where the Tourism Heroes campaign recognises those who go above and beyond, Hop’n’Go2 actively delivers that ethos on the ground: turning ordinary city rides into safe, story-driven experiences that connect travellers to Namibian culture, community impact and Gondwana’s wider services.

Both initiatives are rooted in the same goal – building confidence in Namibian tourism by making safety and hospitality not just ideals, but lived experiences for every visitor and further including them into a moving Gondwana story.

Each trip links top restaurants, hotels and nightlife venues, but the buzz isn’t just about the destinations. Passengers receive specially curated maps of Namibia, a ‘traveller guide’ filled with everything they need to know about Namibian culture, the environment and conscious travel. The QR codes in the vehicle connect curious travellers to Gondwana’s wider world – from Go2 shuttle options to Namibia2Go’s car rental services and to the uplifting community work done through the Gondwana Care Trust.

Unlike a traditional taxi or ride-hailing service, the Hop’n’Go2 shuttle is not requestable or bookable. Instead, for a limited period, the shuttles circulate through Windhoek’s city centre in the evenings, offering free rides to possible travellers they encounter along the way.

For those who want planned transfers around other parts of Windhoek or across Namibia, Gondwana’s Go2 Shuttle service – available via Namibia2Go – remains the go-to option for convenient, bookable travel.

At its heart, the Hop’n’Go2 is about safety and Gondwana’s move tackles that head-on, and in true Gondwana style, safety comes wrapped in storytelling, hospitality and a sense of play.

For travellers, it’s simple: no fares, no stress, just a safe ride that tells you a story along the way. For the industry, it’s proof that innovation doesn’t always mean apps and algorithms, sometimes it’s a brightly branded vehicle with a big idea.
