GOVERNOR of Zambezi Region Lawrence Sampofu said they need to do more follow-ups to all institutions for service delivery.
Sampofu made the remarks during the official closure for the governors forum held at Katima Mulilo on Thursday.
The four-day forum which was held under the theme: “Strengthening Regional Governance” was aimed at ensuring collaboration between all the governors through the information sharing and learning platform.
He said many presentations were presented to them by various Institutions, questions, comments and suggestions were brought to the floor.
“Some responses were given in full but some were referred for further consultations,” he said.
Sampofu added that in order to realize Strengthening Regional Governance as Governors, they need to do more follow-ups to all institutions for service delivery.
He explained that when they talk about service delivery they must know their resources, and where, how and when to deliver them.
According to him, for them to measure the outcome and impact of their activities, governors should make monitoring and evaluation of the projects and final implementation.
Further, Sampofu indicated that in order for the office of the governors to ensure delivery they need an operation budget.
He singled out FISHCOR, saying governors should not look at FISHCOR only to support the RGT but to other Fishing and Mining Companies to strengthen their RGT.
The team then concluded the day with a tour to Zambia where they met with the leadership, before touring the country’s open market.
Omusati Region was selected to host the next governors forum which is held annually.
