Africa-Press – Namibia. AN appeals committee has dismissed athletics coach Letu Hamhola’s case against the Namibia Sport Commission, Athletics Namibia and the Namibia National Paralympic Committee.

At a press conference on Friday, NSC chief administrator Fred Mwiya said that the appeals committee had dismissed Hamhola’s case after he had lodged an appeal against the outcome of some categories at the Namibia Sport Awards function last year.

On 2 November 2021, Hamhola, representing his Namibian Paralympian athletes Ananias Shikongo and Johannes Nambala, expressed his dissatisfaction with their omission from the sport awards categories, specifically the Star of the Year, and Coach of the Year categories.

Hamhola also alleged that Shikongo and Nambala were full members of Athletics Namibia.

The appeals committee however ruled against him, adding that the Namibia Paralympic Committee was also ordered to review its constitution.

“So it means the case was dismissed and it means that the Sports Council followed the books and we did the right job, that’s why the case was dismissed,” Mwiya said, adding that a written verdict will be handed down today.
