THE southern parts of the country are in for more intense weather, as severe thunderstorms are predicted for the region this weekend.

According to the Namibia Meteorological Service, severe thunderstorms are expected to affect the //Kharas Region on Saturday. The public is urged to remain particularly cautious, as these conditions could lead to flooding and further damage to roads already impacted by recent heavy rains.

While the heaviest rainfall is expected in the south, the Namibia Meteorological Service has predicted that other interior areas will also see some rainfall on Saturday. Showers are also expected in some coastal areas on Saturday.

This will be a continuation of an already consistent rainy week, which has affected multiple places from Ondangwa to Windhoek to Bethanie. The public at large is therefore urged to exercise caution during intense weather and to refrain from moving through flooded areas or rivers.
