THE luxury ocean liner Queen Mary 2 has arrived in Walvis Bay, marking another high-profile cruise call as the vessel continues its international voyage, with its next destination set for Dakar, Senegal.
The iconic ship docked in Walvis Bay on 15 April 2026 after departing from Cape Town, South Africa, on 13 April and spending a day at sea. The visit forms part of its broader itinerary across key global ports.

At 345 metres in length, the Queen Mary 2, which has been in service since 2004, is regarded as one of the world’s most celebrated ocean liners. The vessel features 14 passenger decks and offers a range of world-class amenities, including fine dining venues, elegant lounges, a theatre, spa, library, and even a planetarium.
The ship has the capacity to accommodate up to 2,691 passengers, supported by a large crew complement.
The Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) welcomed the vessel’s arrival, highlighting the significance of hosting such a renowned liner at the Port of Walvis Bay and its contribution to the country’s growing cruise tourism sector.
